Sclerotherapy of breast cysts

Breast cyst sclerotherapy under ultrasound guidance is a minimally invasive procedure during which, under ultrasound guidance (i.e., a sensor is placed on the cyst), fluid is removed from the cyst using a long needle, and then a special sclerosing agent is injected into it.

This helps to ‘glue’ the walls of the cyst together and prevents it from refilling. The procedure is quick, does not require any incisions, usually does not require hospitalisation, and is well tolerated by patients. It is performed by an ultrasound diagnostician, a first-class mammologist with over 16 years of experience, Volodymyr Mykolayovych Shytiuk, and takes 30 minutes.
