Avoid carbonated beverages and foods that may cause bloating.

Preparation for a Transvaginal Ultrasound

• The bladder should be empty;
• Follow standard personal hygiene practices;
• Avoid using vaginal suppositories or tampons for several hours before the examination.

Preparation for a Transrectal Ultrasound

Mild bowel cleansing may be required, depending on your doctor’s recommendations.
